The Department of Urology at the University of Washington (UW) seeks a full-time 12 months per year, clinical track urologist at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor, to join the established, community-based arm of the urological surgery program. Salary and academic appointment will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. This position may begin as soon as Spring or Summer 2026, subject to timely approvals and credentialing.. The clinical environment is an outpatient practice. This position will address the increased need for general urology care at UW Medical Center, including the Montlake, Northwest, and Eastside Specialty Clinic campuses. Clinical responsibilities will focus on general urology in a multidisciplinary environment embedded within an academic department, and will include outpatient evaluation and management, inpatient and outpatient urological surgery, and ER consultation coverage.

Clinical faculty hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. While this is an annual appointment subject to renewal each year, clinical faculty generally have a long and productive relationship with the University of Washington and our department.
The base salary range for this position will be: $26,334 per month to $35,000 per month ($316,008 - $420,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UWP practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through UW Physicians practice plan. Incentive is inclusive of variable incentive, Monthly or Semi-Annual Additional Compensation (MAC/SAAC).
Qualifications
This position requires the applicant to possess an MD degree (or foreign equivalent), to have completed an accredited residency in Urology (or foreign equivalent) and be a board-certified urologist. Appointment at the Clinical Associate Professor rank requires three years of clinical and teaching experience at the Assistant Professor rank or commensurate experience if coming from a non-academic institution.
All candidates must be eligible for and able to maintain a Washington State medical license. Graduates of foreign medical schools must have completed the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), Step 3 or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Appointment criteria requires active American Board of Urology (ABU) Certification.
