Position Description

The Department of Dermatology at the University of Washington invites applications for a clinical practice faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor of Clinical Practice. The successful candidate will be expected to support the department's commitment to excellence in teaching and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a twelve-month basis for a term of 3 years beginning 7/1/2026. Full/part-time status is negotiable with the exception that only full-time positions are eligible for visa and permanent residence sponsorship.

The base salary range for this position will be $29,500 - $43,971 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

The successful candidate will be expected to have primarily outpatient dermatology clinical responsibilities, and engage in teaching medical students and resident trainees. 

Candidates will be considered across a range of interests in general and subspecialty dermatology, including medical, surgical, and pediatric dermatology, as well as areas such as dermatopathology, cutaneous oncology, immunodermatology, and phototherapy. Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, candidates who have an established record of clinical care, teaching, and research in the area of Dermatology. 

The UW Department of Dermatology includes 37 paid faculty members across 6 different clinical sites (Roosevelt, Harborview, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, South Lake Union, Eastside Specialty Center, VA Puget Sound) and over 30 staff members. Qualifications

Applicants for this clinical practice faculty position must meet the following minimum qualifications:

The successful candidate must have a medical doctorate (or foreign equivalent), medical licensure in the state of Washington and Board Eligibility or Certification in Dermatology (or foreign equivalent) by the start date of employment. 

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
