The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine, University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking a full-time (100% FTE) Associate or full Professor, WOT (without tenure by reason of funding) Interventional Cardiologist to lead the Interventional Cardiology section at the University of Washington. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UW’s Faculty Code Section 24-34. Associate and full Professor WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The anticipated start date is January 1, 2026.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a nationally-renowned Interventional Cardiology program in an academic health system committed to excellence in clinical care, education, and cardiovascular research. The section head will work with the Cardiology Division Head and Heart Institute Medical and Surgical Directors to guide strategy and operations of the interventional and structural heart programs. They will supervise the catheterization lab directors at University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC)-Montlake, UWMC-Northwest, and Harborview Medical Center and mentor the academic careers of the interventional faculty within a strong culture of innovation. There is extensive collaboration with cardiac surgeons and cardiac anesthesiologists to grow cutting-edge interventional cardiology services.
The successful candidate will perform interventional and/or structural heart procedures in the catheterization lab and see patients in the outpatient clinic or inpatient consults for interventional and/or structural procedures at UWMC. The teaching activities of this position will include didactic teaching and hands-on procedural teaching in the catheterization lab to cardiology, interventional, structural, and complex, high-risk and indicated percutaneous coronary intervention (“CHIP”) fellows.

The base salary range for this position will be $20,000-$41,667 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may include an administrative salary supplement (ADS), and incentive through UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan.

Qualifications
Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified/eligible in interventional cardiology (or foreign equivalent) and must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington. Candidates must have a demonstrated record of research and publication. Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, a record of research and publication involving participation in clinical trials.
