Position Description
The Division of Critical Care Medicine, at the University of Washington, is seeking a candidate to join our faculty as full time Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, on the Clinical Practice track. Rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The anticipated start date is Fall 2025.
Duties include providing direct patient care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Units at Seattle Children’s Hospital and/or the Harborview Medical Center, teaching, and may include research and or administrative work depending on training, interests, and Division needs. The successful candidate will be expected to support the department's commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.
Opportunities are available for research and collaboration with scientists at Seattle Children’s Research Institute, as well as all biomedical departments at the University of Washington.
All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
The initial appointment period will be three years, at a minimum, with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure.
The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice $18,775 - $28,167 per month ($225,342 - $338,012 annually), Associate Professor of Clinical Practice $21,774 - $32,662 per month ($261,296 - $391,944 annually), Professor of Clinical Practice $25,678 - $38,517 per month ($308,136 - $462,204 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Children’s University Medical Group practice plan.
Qualifications
- An MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) degree; an MD/PhD combined (or foreign equivalent) is also acceptable.
- US Board certification or US Board eligibility in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
- Completion of a pediatric residency.
- Eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington
- In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all 3 steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
