Position Description

The Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (AID) in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking applicants for a full time (1.0) ARNP or PA to join the Solid Organ Transplant (SOT) Infectious Diseases Service at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) Montlake Campus.

The ARNP/PA will provide clinical care as a member of the SOT ID service at UWMC-ML that includes attending physicians, infectious diseases trainees, and other physician assistants or nurse practitioners. The candidate will provide care independently and collaboratively with other team members by providing consult to SOT physicians, advanced practice providers, and staff regarding integrate clinical infectious disease findings, obtained from physical examination and functional assessment, with information to improve diagnosis and manage risk. Responsibilities for clinical care will include transplant counseling, vaccination, travel medicine, pre-transplant evaluation, living donor evaluation, and post-transplant follow-up for infectious complications. The successful candidate will also be involved in independently seeing return/follow-up patients in the outpatient clinical setting and in consultation with physician partners at UWMC-ML. As the need arises, this position may also provide inpatient consultative services for hospitalized patients. The candidate may also participate in QI/QA activities geared at improving infectious disease-related outcomes in SOT patients.

University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

The successful candidate will be appointed as a full-time faculty member at the rank of Teaching Associate.  Teaching Associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms.  Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position is anticipated to start in July 2025 or later.

The base salary range for this position will be: $10,834 - $15,175 per month ($130,008 - $182,100 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or an accredited PA program (or foreign equivalent). The applicant must be eligible for medical licensure as an ARNP or PA-C in the state of Washington. Successful candidates must demonstrate clinical expertise in the care of infectious disease patients.
