Position Description
The Biobehavioral Nursing and Health Informatics (BNHI) department within The University of Washington (UW) School of Nursing invites applications for two (2) full time, tenure-track nursing faculty positions at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. Tenure track faculty in BNHI have an annual service period of nine months (September 16-June 15). Although a 9-month appointment, the position has opportunities for teaching and/or research funding during summer quarter.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to work collaboratively across disciplines, cultures, and academic backgrounds, and to develop and sustain a program of funded research. Successful candidates must demonstrate commitment to research, teaching and mentoring a diverse student body across all levels of the nursing curriculum: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP; covering a range of practice specialties), Master’s of Science (MS), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree programs.
The anticipated start date is September 16, 2025. The base salary range for the Assistant Professor position is $10,900-12,000 per month ($98,100 - 108,000 annually); and for the Associate Professor position will be $12,750 - 13,500 per month ($114,750-121,500 annually), commensurate with rank, experience and qualifications.
Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to:
- Expertise and research foci in psychiatric and mental health, biobehavioral interventions, health systems, or health informatics.
- Research consistent with the research areas of the School (health equity, community health, healthy aging, lifespan health, symptom science, prevention and health promotion, and innovative interventions)
- Prior experience with diverse, underserved, or marginalized populations
- At least one year of postdoctoral fellowship or other post-doctorate research experience.

Qualifications
Candidates should have an earned PhD or related research degree, i.e., Doctorate of Nursing Science (or foreign equivalent) in nursing science or a related field. Licensure or eligibility for RN licensure in Washington State is required.
To be eligible for an H-1B visa authorizing patient care, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) nursing schools must have a Visa Screen certification by the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS).

- Statement of teaching philosophy and experience
- A curriculum vita with highest degree earned.
