The University of Washington’s (UW) Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology is seeking applicants for a full-time (1.0 FTE) position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor, without tenure due to reasons of funding (WOT). Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. Assistant professors (WOT) are eligible for multi-year appointments, and Associate and full Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that all align with a 12-month service period (July 1 – June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
The anticipated start date would be April 1, 2025.
University of Washington faculty engage in research, teaching, and service.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity for clinical and/or translational research directed towards advancing our understanding of kidney health and diseases. This position will require both clinical and teaching duties including mentoring trainees, bedside teaching of fellows, medical residents, and students, and divisional teaching conferences as assigned.
The successful candidate will also be expected to work collaboratively.
Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to emerging national recognition for research and scholarship, evidence of teaching excellence, and the potential to become an independently funded investigator in the field of kidney disease based on career development awards and/or other grants received or submitted.
The base salary range for this position will be: $17,667-$20,417 per month ($212,004-$245,004 annually) for Assistant Professor; $20,000-$26,000 per month ($240,000-$312,000 annually) for Associate Professor; and $25,000-$29,000 per month ($300,00-$348,000 annually) for Professor, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Qualifications
Applicants for this position must hold an MD or DO degree in a relevant field (or foreign equivalent) and must have completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) nephrology fellowship (or foreign equivalent). Applicants must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington.
In order to be eligible for University Sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
