Position Description

The University of Washington’s (UW) Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology is seeking applicants for a full-time (1.0 FTE) position. This position would be at the rank of Research Associate Professor or Research Professor (non-tenure eligible). Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. Research Associate Professors and Research Professors  hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1 – June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The anticipated start date would be April 1, 2025.

University of Washington faculty engage in research, teaching, and service. 

The successful candidate should be expected to establish a kidney research program and participate in mentorship of trainees and classroom teaching to graduate students.

The successful candidate will also be expected to work collaboratively.

Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to national/international recognition for research and scholarship and the ability to obtain independent funding, based on R01 or equivalent grant support.

The base salary range for this position will be: $11,000 - $15,917 per month ($132,000 - $191,004 annually) for Research Associate Professor and $15,917-$23,167 per month ($191,004-$278,004 annually) for Research Professor, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Qualifications

Applicants for this position must hold a PhD degree in relevant field (or foreign equivalent).
