Position Description
The University of Washington (UW) Department of Medicine, Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition (MET), is accepting applications for two (2) full-time faculty members based out of the University of Washington Medicine Diabetes Institute (UWMDI). These positions will be at the rank of Research Assistant Professor (non-tenure eligible). Research Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
These positions would have research responsibilities at UWMDI. These positions will focus on research in the area of diabetes and metabolism, which will complement ongoing research in diabetes at the UW Medicine Diabetes Institute at South Lake Union. The new hire will also contribute to teaching through resident and fellow education and post-doctoral training. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
The base salary range for this position will be: $9,170 - $12,500 per month ($110,040 - $150,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
The anticipated start date would be July 1, 2025.
Qualifications
Requirements include a Ph.D. degree or foreign equivalent in a relevant field. Eligible candidates must have a demonstrated track record of funding and evidence of scholarly productivity and publications.
