Position Description
The University of Washington’s Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, is seeking applicants for a faculty position to be based at the Women’s Health Care Center (WHCC). This position will be at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank on the Clinical Practice track. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UW’s Faculty Code Section 24-34. The earliest start date is February 1, 2025.
This position will involve serving as a primary care provider at WHCC, and teaching and precepting residents and students, with optional inpatient attending of two to four weeks per year at UWMC-Montlake.
University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. In addition to clinical work, teaching, scholarship, and service are integral to all Clinical Practice positions. The initial appointment period will be three years, at a minimum, with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the Clinical Practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure. Only full-time positions (100% FTE) are eligible for H-1B and permanent residence sponsorship. Employer based permanent residence sponsorship is offered in the Clinical Practice track.
Salary
The base salary range for this position will be: $16,250 - $20,834 per month ($195,000 - $250,000 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Qualifications
Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and board certification* in Internal Medicine (or foreign equivalent). Applicants must hold or be eligible for Washington State Medical License.
*Note: Board certification in Internal Medicine must be completed within two years after residency.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
