The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Washington is a regional leader in the Pacific Northwest dedicated to the health and well-being of birth parents and their babies. The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine offers highly specialized care and educational programs for birth parents and families with health conditions or special challenges that may complicate pregnancy and birth. Fourteen MFM physicians provide expertise in a broad range of complex conditions through pregnancy care programs in diabetes, complex maternal hypertension, adult congenital heart disease, solid organ transplantation, cancer, complex autoimmune conditions, multiple gestations, complex maternal surgical abdomen, placenta accreta spectrum, maternal and fetal genetics conditions, and fetal anomalies. We provide care through direct patient care at the University of Washington Medical Center, telemedicine, and outreach sites within the state of Washington. We provide consultations for Wyoming, Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho (WWAMI region).
The Division of MFM has an outstanding opportunity at the level of Teaching Associate to join our team at the University of Washington Medical Center. This is a full-time, 12 month (July 1 - June 30) academic position on a yearly appointment with an anticipated start date of January 2, 2025. We are seeking an individual who is enthusiastic about learning and committed to excellence in patient care. The successful candidate should be able to provide full ARNP clinical services including antepartum and postpartum outpatient care, have experience with managing diabetes and hypertension and any other complex high risk medical conditions in pregnancy. Familiarity with a teaching environment with learners in the clinical setting would be helpful. The volume and acuity of our patients require attention to detail, flexibility to meet patient care needs, and an ability to work collaboratively with our MFM faculty and support staff.
The base salary range for this position will be: $10,417 - $12,500 per month ($125,004 - $150,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Qualifications
- Current and valid state Registered Nurse Licensure for ARNP or Physician Assistant Licensure.
- Graduate Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or accredited PA program and licensure as an ARNP, PA-C.
- Nationallycertified ARNP/PA-C with DEA.
- Experience working with high-risk patients
- Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment.
- Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in patient care.
All candidates must be eligible for and able to maintain a Washington State medical license. The University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Candidates will be expected to provide medical services at the University of Washington affiliated hospitals, train residents and medical students, and make academic contributions to the field.
