Position Description
The University of Washington (UW), Department of Medicine/Division of Cardiology is recruiting for a general cardiologist position to be primarily based at Harborview Medical Center at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank, on the Clinical Practice Track. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UW’s Faculty Code Section 24-34. Anticipated start date will be August 1, 2025.
The position would be primarily based at Harborview Medical Center and most or all of clinical work will be done at Harborview Medical Center, including inpatient service and outpatient clinic. This position will be expected to engage in education and scholarship. Teaching will include inpatient attending with Cardiology fellows and internal medicine residents, including bedside and didactic teaching, as well as opportunities in the outpatient clinic and echocardiography labs.
In addition to clinical work, teaching, scholarship, and service are integral to all Clinical Practice positions. The initial appointment period will be three years, at a minimum, with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure.

Compensation
Salary
The base salary range will be: $19,166-$41,667 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have an MD or DO (or foreign equivalent), medical licensure in the state of Washington and Board Eligibility or Certification in Cardiovascular disease (or foreign equivalent) by the start date of employment.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
