We are recruiting an Advanced Practice Provider—Physician Assistant (PA-C) or ARNP—to partner with our orthopaedic surgeons on the inpatient Orthopaedic Service at the University of Washington Medical Center – Montlake Campus. Duties and responsibilities will be to assist our faculty in the care of both inpatient and outpatients who are undergoing orthopaedic surgery. The Advanced Practice Provider will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team that in addition to attending orthopaedic surgeons includes primary care and hospitalist services, rehabilitation physicians, orthopaedic residents, other advanced practice providers and nurses. Our APPs are given Teaching Associate positions within the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine at UW and so will have similarly excellent employment benefits to those offered to our faculty. The position is on an annual appointment with a 12-month service period (July 1 - June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position has a flexible start date in the fall of 2024.

The base salary range for this position will be: $9,667 - $13,334 per month ($116,004-160,008 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations.

Qualifications

1. Current Washington State Physician Assistant License or ARNP license, or ability to obtain one prior to employment.

2. Graduate Degree from an accredited PA or ARNP program. Nationally certified PA-C or ARNP with DEA.

3. Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment in school or in practice and possess effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and communication skills.

Preferred: Experience in orthopaedic care preferred, but we can train motivated and talented individuals. Flexibility of the applicant in terms of weekly work schedule would be advantageous.
