Position Description
The Division of Social and Historical Studies (SHS) within the School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences (SIAS) at the University of Washington (UW) Tacoma projects the need for instruction in History during the 2024-2025 academic year. We invite applications for Part-Time Lecturers Temporary from individuals with expertise and/or teaching experience in US History. In particular, we are seeking instructors for THIST 201: US History since 1877, TCORE 113: Introduction to Social Science, and one or two upper division history courses (see list of history courses here: https://www.washington.edu/students/crscatt/thist.html. This is a part-time position with quarterly (3-month) service periods that begin on September 16, December 16, and March 16.
Days and Times of Instruction and/or Modalities (In-Person, Hybrid, or Asynchronous Online are to be negotiated with the caveat that online teaching requires certification by the University of Washington.

The base salary range for this position will be $5597 per quarter per 5-credit course commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Qualifications
This position requires an earned Ph.D. (ABD acceptable) (or foreign equivalent) a related field at the time of appointment. The successful applicant will have been the instructor of record for courses. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We regret that we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time.
