Position Description

The University of Washington’s Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology is seeking an ARNP/PA for a full-time (1.0 FTE) position, at the rank of Teaching Associate. The ARNP/PA is a member of the inter-professional gastroenterology and hepatology team that includes attending physicians, gastroenterology and hepatology trainees, clinical pharmacologists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners providing care for patients with complex gastrointestinal and liver disease in a high-volume inpatient and outpatient setting. A successful applicant will provide care independently and collaboratively with other team members. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Teaching Associate hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms.  Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.  The estimated start date is May 1, 2024.

This position will provide clinical services at the UWMC, Eastside clinic, and the Northwest campus.  Duties will include providing gastroenterology consultative services predominantly in the outpatient setting but may also include inpatient consultative services. This position works directly with attending physicians, and nurse practitioners, as well as clinic and endoscopy staff including nurses and medical assistants.

The base salary range for this position will be: $9,166 - $15,000 per month ($109,992 - $180,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Qualifications

1.          Graduate Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or graduate of an accredited PA program, or foreign equivalent.

2.          Current and valid licensure as an ARNP or PA-C in Washington State.

3.          Nationally certified ARNP/PA with DEA.

4.          Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment.

5.          Excellent interpersonal skills and clinical expertise in the care of patients with chronic and acute gastrointestinal and liver illnesses.
