Position Description
The University of Washington seeks outstanding applicants for the position of Senior Fellow in the Institute for Nuclear Theory (INT) and tenured faculty member in the Department of Physics at the University of Washington. Depending on seniority, appointments may be at either the Associate or Full Professor level. The INT is a national facility funded by the Office of Science of the U.S. Department of Energy. INT Senior Fellows contribute to maintaining and enhancing the vitality of the local research effort as well as the INT’s visitor programs and workshops. In addition to engaging in research in their particular area(s) of expertise, Senior Fellows benefit the INT’s mission by having a broad perspective on nuclear physics and a commitment to building ties with related subfields, including astrophysics, particle physics, atomic physics, and condensed matter physics.
All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. This is a full-time 12-month position, anticipated to begin in Fall 2024. The base salary range for this position will be $17,000-$25,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Physics, or foreign equivalent, and a strong record of published research in nuclear theory, broadly construed.
