We are recruiting a full-time physician assistant at the faculty rank of Teaching Associate to join our Sports Medicine Service at the University of Washington Medical Center. The successful candidate is expected to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team and have effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise. Our PAs are responsible for providing comprehensive orthopaedic care to patients in the surgical, inpatient and outpatient settings at potentially both UW Montlake and Northwest campuses. Teaching associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position has a flexible start date in the winter of 2024.
Salary:
The base salary range for this position at a full-time FTE will be: $9,584 - $12,084 per month ($115,008-145,008 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations.
Benefits include: full malpractice indemnification (including tail coverage), medical/dental/vision benefits, UWRP retirement plan, paid vacation, CME and long-term disability.
Qualifications
1. Current and valid Washington State Physician Assistant or ARNP License.
2. Graduate Degree from an accredited APP program. Nationally certified PA-C with DEA.
3. Excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment.
DESIRED:
Experience caring for orthopaedic patients in the operating room and clinic setting is desirable, but not a prerequisite for the candidate who is eager to learn.
