Position Description

The Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (AID) in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position. This position will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, without tenure for reasons of funding (WOT), and will have clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments and Associate Professors hold indefinite appointments that both align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position is anticipated to start in March 2024.

The successful candidate will provide clinical care to patients living with HIV in Madison Clinic and the Max Clinic and be co-medical director of the PHSKC Sexual Health Clinic, with a particular focus on syphilis.  The candidate will also have the opportunity to conduct research in the field of STI and HIV. The candidate will be expected to publish in the fields of HIV and STI, as well as teach trainees at all levels.

University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

 The base salary range for this position will be: $15,448 - $18,927 per month ($185,376 - $227,124 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) and be board eligible/ board certified in Infectious Diseases (or foreign equivalent). Applicants must also be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Washington. Successful candidates must demonstrate clinical expertise in the care of infectious disease patients. Additionally, they must demonstrate scholarly research related to HIV and STIs. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S,) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
