Position Description
The Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (AID) in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking applicants for a full-time (1.0) faculty position. This position will be at the Clinical Instructor or Clinical Assistant Professor level, and will have clinical and teaching components. Clinical faculty hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
The successful candidate will take on a clinical faculty position. This position will include both outpatient and inpatient care and primarily involve clinical care at the Madison Clinic located at Harborview Medical Center and certain satellite clinics, providing care for patients with HIV and individuals with substance use disorder and other social determinants of health that are risk factors for infectious diseases such as HIV and Hepatitis C. The duties of this position include primarily clinical care, but also teaching and mentoring of Infectious Disease fellows and Internal Medicine residents. University of Washington faculty engage in clinical, teaching, and research activities. Some scholarly opportunities are also available for those candidates interested in medical education and/or practice improvement

The base salary range for this position will be: $12,793 - $15,910 per month ($153,516 - $190,920 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may include lump sum relocation payment.

Qualifications
Applicants must hold a MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) and be board eligible/ board certified in Infectious Diseases (or foreign equivalent) and have a strong commitment to clinical medicine and education. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S,) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
