Position Description
The Department of Neurology at the University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking to hire an Advanced Practice Providers (APP) in the Teaching Associate faculty title (ARNP or PA credentials) to provide direct patient care in the UW Medicine Neurology outpatient clinics across Harborview, UWMC Montlake, and Northwest campuses. This position will triage and treat return patients with complex neurological disorders, perform post-hospital discharge follow-up, and evaluate new patients. This position will be responsible for patient education, working with other neurologist team members, and facilitating quality care. APPs will see new patients Clinic with specific conditions that require longitudinal management, such as headache and epilepsy.
The base salary range for this position will be $9,166 - $10,000 per month ($109,992 - $120,000 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Our salaries are bench marked based on the AAMC scale. Other compensation associated with this position may or may not include Startup, Relocation Incentive/Moving Allowance Administrative supplement for a defined administrative role, or Productivity Incentive.
This is a full-time 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) appointment at the Teaching Associate title.
The Anticipated start date is Dec 01, 2023.
Qualifications
Requirements include Current, valid, and unencumbered Washington State Registered Nurse and Advanced Registered Nurse Licensure with prescriptive authority or PA licensure. Master’s Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or Physician Assistant Program. Certification by a national board certifying organization. Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment. Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in inpatient care. Clinical expertise in neuroscience disorders is preferred but not required. A foreign equivalent degree.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
