Join the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine at the University of Washington. We are recruiting a full-time advanced practice provider (APP) at the faculty rank of Teaching Associate to join our general orthopeadic and fracture service at the University of Washington Medical Center – primarily the Northwest Campus. The successful candidate is expected to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team and have effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise. Our APPs are responsible for providing comprehensive orthopaedic care to patients in the surgical, inpatient and outpatient settings. Teaching associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position has a flexible start date in the or summer or fall of 2023.

Salary:
The base salary range for this position will be: $9,584 - $12,084 per month ($115,008-145,008 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. 

Benefits include: full malpractice indemnification (including tail coverage), medical/dental/vision benefits, UWRP retirement plan, paid vacation, CME and long-term disability.

Qualifications

1. Current and valid Washington State Physician Assistant or ARNP License.

2. Graduate Degree from an accredited APP program. Nationally certified PA-C with DEA.

3. Excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment.

DESIRED:
Experience caring for orthopaedic patients in the operating room and clinic setting is desirable, but not a prerequisite for the candidate who is eager to learn.
