The University of Washington’s Department of Rehabilitation Medicine is seeking three (3) full-time physiatrists with focus on neurorehabilitation to join our faculty at UW Medicine as a full-time Assistant Professor (without tenure due to source of funding, which is typical of ranked faculty appointments within the department), in the Clinician-Educator pathway. Academic rank at the time of appointment is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Assistant professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Anticipated start date is mid to late 2023, but other dates may be considered.

The successful candidates will join our team in caring for a diverse population with a broad range of diagnoses, such as stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, post-acute symptoms of COVID, and neuromuscular disorders. Duties may include a mix of working in the inpatient rehabilitation unit, acute hospital consultation, and outpatient clinic settings at both Harborview Medical Center and the University of Washington Medical Center, depending on the successful candidates’ experience and interests and patient care needs. Procedures such as EMGs, chemodenervation injections, and intrathecal baclofen pump management are also available to interested applicants. Our patient and family-centered academic hospital-based rehabilitation programs offer tertiary care for a five-state region. We practice in a collaborative and multidisciplinary academic environment. The base salary range for this position will be $14,166 - $19,417 per month ($169,992 - $233,004 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Other compensation associated with this position may include any of the following, if applicable: incentive through UW Physicians (UWP), moving allowance, relocation incentive.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- MD, DO, or foreign equivalent and eligible for full medical licensure in Washington state
- Board certification or eligibility for Board Certification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
- Successful completion of residency training in an accredited PM&R program
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or foreign equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
