We are seeking a passionate, mid-career Maternal-Fetal Medicine physician for the leadership position as Director of the Fetal Imaging Center at University of Washington Medical Center - Montlake. This position will be full-time at the Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor level. The successful candidate will be expected to provide administrative and clinical leadership skills, engage in program development, and carry forward our academic mission. This provider will train and oversee sonographers and clinicians to meet MFM imaging standards and provide consultations and direct patient care in MFM appropriate patients and will be expected to provide care at multiple sites either in person or by telemedicine and take night and weekend call. There will be opportunities for scholarly work in education, QI and/or research. This individual will work in an ambulatory clinic site, on Labor and Delivery, and in the operating room with MFM fellows, residents, medical students. The successful candidate will also be expected to engage in education, leadership and research consistent with the academic mission of the University of Washington. This position has a 12-month service period (July 1 - June 30) with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2023.

The base salary range for this position will be: $29,167 - $37,500 per month ($350,004 - $450,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

UWMC is a comprehensive healthcare facility dedicated to providing specialized care for a broad spectrum of patients from throughout a five state region comprised of Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho (WWAMI), and includes the region’s premier neonatal intensive care unit. The Director of Maternal-Fetal Imaging would oversee the creation of a highly specialized center of excellence for imaging in pregnancies complicated by fetal conditions and/or women with health conditions with special challenges that may complicate pregnancy and birth. 

Qualifications

  • MD, DO degree or foreign equivalent
  • Board certification in Maternal-Fetal Medicine or foreign equivalent
  • Experience in managing complex medical and surgical conditions in obstetrics including but not limited to surgical experience in managing pregnancies complicated by placenta acreta spectrum
  • Experience in obstetric and gynecologic emergencies and traumas
  • Administrative and leadership experience
  • Experience in working in team-based care

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S,) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
