Position Description

The Department of Neurology at the University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking to hire a outstanding clinical neurologist to work with general neurology patients at the University of Washington Medical Center. This is a full-time, 12-month service period appointment (July 1 – June 30) at the Assistant Professor rank (without tenure by reason of funding). Assistant professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. 

This individual will be a members of a busy academic service performing a variety of clinical duties including outpatient clinical care at the UW Neurology Clinic and general neurology inpatient attending at UWMC and/or Harborview Medical Center. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

The base salary range for this position will be $17,454 - $ 18,811 per month ($209,448 - $225,732 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Our salaries are bench marked based on the AAMC scale Other compensation associated with this position may or may not include Startup, Relocation Incentive/Moving Allowance Administrative supplement for a defined administrative role, or Productivity Incentive.

The anticipated start date for this position is December 1, 2023.

Qualifications

Requires an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.

Candidates must be either board eligible or board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.  

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services
