Position Description

The Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (AID) in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position. This position will be at the Assistant Professor level, without tenure for reasons of funding (WOT), and will have clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities. Assistant professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position is anticipated to start July 1, 2023.

The successful candidate will participate in grant-funded research, particularly related to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The candidate will provide clinical care of patients in allergy/immunology, at approximately 25% FTE. The candidate will be expected to participate in teaching and mentoring students, residents, and fellows, including clinical teaching during inpatient rounds, classroom instruction, and mentoring committees. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

The base salary range for this position will be: $15,834 - $16,932 per month ($190,008 - $203,184 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may include relocation lump sum payment.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a MD (or foreign equivalent) and be board eligible/ board certified in Allergy or Immunology (or foreign equivalent). Successful candidates must demonstrate clinical expertise in the care of allergy patients. Additionally, they must demonstrate scholarly research related to allergies. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S,) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
