Position Description

The University of Washington Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology is recruiting a full-time faculty member for an appointment at the Assistant Professor rank (without tenure due to funding). Assistant professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.  The successful applicant will be expected to engage in research into understanding the regulation of autophagy in normal and impaired hematopoiesis which may provide new targets for therapeutic intervention and teaching within the division. Teaching duties may include mentoring, lab instruction, lectures/conferences, and teaching in Pathology and in the Blood & Cancer course. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Position will remain open until filled. Anticipated start date is March 1, 2023.

The base salary range for this position will be: $10,000 - $10,962 per month ($120,000 - $131,544 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. 

Qualifications

The selected candidate must have a Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Hematology or another relevant field by date of appointment.
