Position Description

The University of Washington, Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine is recruiting one (1) full-time general cardiologist at Harborview Medical Center.  The position is in the clinical track at the Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor level. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. This positions will hold an annual appointment that aligns with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The position would be based at Harborview Medical Center and will include inpatient attending on the consult, acute care and CCU services, outpatient clinic and further development of a community heart failure clinic.  Cardiac imaging opportunities are available for candidates with appropriate training.  The position does not require subspecialty training in advanced heart failure. Teaching will be expected on inpatient rotations, and may be an opportunity in the clinic setting.  Those interpreting imaging studies will be expected to teach trainees in those settings.  Anticipated start date will be June 1, 2023 or after.

The base salary range for this position will be $16,250-$33,333 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may include an administrative salary supplement (ADS) and incentive through UW Physicians practice plan.

Qualifications

Applicants must have an MD degree or foreign equivalent and be board certified/eligible in cardiovascular diseases, or foreign equivalent. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to patient care and education.  In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
