Position Description

The School of Law at the University of Washington, a major research university in the dynamic hub of Seattle, seeks to hire an Assistant Professor in criminal law and procedure.   The successful tenure-track, entry-level candidate will start as an Assistant Professor of Law.  Candidates should have an outstanding record of research, publications, and professional experience in the field of criminal law and procedure and the interest and ability to teach criminal law, criminal procedure: adjudication, and related courses.

All UW faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

Assistant Professors in the School  of Law have an annual service period of nine months (September 16 - June 15)This position is full-time (100% FTE). The anticipated start date for this position is September  1, 2023

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or foreign equivalent
  • One or more years of prior relevant practice experience and demonstrate a strong capacity for teaching
  • Proven record of research and publication
