Position Description
The University of Washington’s Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is seeking an ARNP/PA for a full-time (1.0 FTE) at the rank of Teaching Associate. The ARNP/PA is a member of the inter-professional gastroenterology and hepatology team that includes attending physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, gastroenterology and hepatology trainees, and clinical pharmacologists providing care for patients with gastrointestinal and liver disease in the inpatient and outpatient settings. A successful applicant will provide care independently and collaboratively with other team members. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Teaching Associate hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Estimated start date is January 1, 2023.
This position will provide clinical services at the UWMC, Eastside clinic, and the Northwest campus. Duties will include providing gastroenterology consultative services predominantly in the outpatient setting but may also include inpatient consultative services. This role will work closely to support our inflammatory bowel disease practice. The Inflammatory Bowel Disease team includes attending physicians, advanced practice providers, and pharmacists, as well as clinic and endoscopy staff including nurses and medical assistants.
Qualifications
1. Graduate Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or graduate of an accredited PA program, or foreign equivalent.
2. Current and valid licensure as an ARNP or PA-C in Washington State.
3. Nationally certified ARNP/PA with DEA.
4. Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills and clinical expertise in the care of patients with chronic and acute gastrointestinal and liver
