Offer Letters
As you may remember, in July we began storing OAP documents in the UW-IT managed EDM system. As part of this new system, we have asked that campus partners submit offer letters as a separate PDF document. Recently, we’ve found a number of offer letters with start dates that do not match the start date in Workday. These discrepancies can delay the hiring approval process as Academic HR specialists follow up with units to clarify inconsistencies. If a new hire’s start date has changed, please be sure to update the offer letter, provide the new hire a copy of the revised letter, and upload a PDF of the revised offer letter into Workday.
Sequencing of Multiple Business Processes
We’d like to share a friendly reminder that on actions requiring business processes on both the position and the academic appointment such as new hires, lateral moves, and transfers, the position action should be initiated before the appointment action. Appointment business processes will only be approved after the position business process has been approved. Following this process, the documents will be moved to the EDM. Be sure to visit the
