As announced last Autumn and implemented on January 1, 2023, Washington state employers with more than 15 employees are required to include a salary range and benefits information in all job postings.
The salary offered to the successful candidate must fall within the salary range identified in the job posting. The University is an employer subject to this salary disclosure law. As of October 2023, more than thirty class action lawsuits have been filed against Washington employers for failure to comply with this law; the University is paying close attention to this ongoing litigation. Given the importance of full compliance with the salary disclosure law, units should review OAP’s
Salary Disclosure in Academic Job Postings for detailed guidance on job postings.
