Position Details

The UW Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine is seeking a full-time fellowship trained candidate for a faculty position in Adult Reconstruction/Joint Replacement. The practice will be located at Northwest Hospital and Medical Center. Opportunities exist for both clinical and basic research as well as resident education. Appointment is expected to be at the assistant professor level, without tenure due to funding, but a candidate with exceptional qualifications will be considered for appointment at the associate professor rank. Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified (or eligible) in orthopaedic surgery. Responsibilities will include resident education, medical student teaching, and clinical or basic research. However, the main focus of the position will be clinical care. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or foreign equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
