The University of Washington Department of Medicine, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance are recruiting a full-time faculty member, at the Assistant (0113), Associate (0112), or Full Professor (0111) level non-tenure clinician/teacher, a 12-month, indefinite appointment. MD (or foreign equivalent), fellowship in Hematology or foreign equivalent (with or without Oncology), and demonstrated expertise in adult non-malignant hematology all required. In addition to an emphasis on research and an academic general non-malignant hematology practice, this position includes the opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team in the management of adult patients with sickle cell disease. The Division of Hematology at the University of Washington offers a highly academic and intellectually stimulating environment that includes a significant number of faculty whose research interest and clinical expertise focus on non-malignant hematologic diseases, including bone marrow failure syndromes, hemophilia, thrombotic disorders, as well as platelet disorders. There is a strong sense of collegiality within the group; all faculty members engage in teaching, research and clinical service. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
