The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC) and the University of Washington (UW) Department of Medicine are jointly recruiting a full-time faculty member at the Assistant/Associate or Full Member/Assistant (0113), Associate (0112) or Full Professor (0111) level without tenure due to funding (WOT), on the Physician/Scientist pathway (12-month, multi-year appointments) in the Clinical Research Division of the FHCRC and the Division of Oncology of the Department of Medicine at the U W. The goal is to recruit a prominent thought leader and translational researcher in the field of myeloid malignancies (myclodysplasia, myeloproliferative neoplasms, or myeloid malignancies). The successful candidate is expected to engage in active laboratory and clinical research related to the molecular pathogenesis, genomics/epigenomies, intracellular signaling pathways, or targeted translational therapeutics of myeloid neoplasms. Ideally, the faculty member would also participate in the care of patients with myeloid diseases, either in a half day per week clinic or by attending on the inpatient leukemia or transplant services. Candidates must demonstrate a track-record of high quality peer-reviewed publications, as well as evidence of independent research and competitive funding potential.

The primary appointment will be in the Clinical Research Division of the FHCRC. Applicants must have an M D or PhD degree (or foreign equivalent). Board certification in Medical Oncology or Hematology (or foreign equivalent) is desirable. In order to be eligible for sponsorship for an H- IB visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
