Position Description

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor, without tenure due to funding (WOT) level. This individual would attend gynecologic oncology inpatients and outpatients, perform major and minor surgeries, teach medical students, residents, and fellows, and participate in the educational mission of the department including the administration of the residency and fellowship program, surgical teaching through simulation and labs, division journal club, and didactics. This position will be required to work in a team-based setting and support the department's commitment to education, leadership, and research consistent with the academic mission of the University of Washington

In addition, there are ample opportunities for leadership and advancement within the department and institution including leadership opportunities in the residency and fellowship programs. This multi-year position has a 12-month service period (July 1- June 30) with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2022. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Candidates will be expected to provide medical services at the University of Washington affiliated hospitals, train residents and medical students, and make academic contributions to the field. 

Qualifications

Candidates must have a MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and must have completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology. A foreign equivalent is acceptable. In addition, candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Gynecologic Oncology. Candidates must have excellent clinical and robotic skills.

Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, fluency in Spanish or another non-English language.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
