Position Description
The Division of Genetic Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington is recruiting a full-time academic geneticist at the level of Assistant Professor, without tenure by reason of funding (rank is commensurate with qualifications and experience) on the Faculty-Scientist track. Position is a multi-year appointment over a 12-month service period, July 1-June 30. Anticipated start date is Summer 2022.
Areas of interest can include, but are not limited to, human genetics, disease-gene discovery, genotype-phenotype relationships, mechanisms of disease, development and application of novel technologies for genetic diagnosis, computational biology, and systems level analyses of pathways involved in disease and development. The successful applicant will enjoy a competitive start-up package, and excellent space and state-of-the-art facilities at the University of Washington which is near the South Lake Union Campus, Seattle Children’s Research Institute, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and the Allen Brain and Cell Biology Institutes.

Qualifications
Applicants should have a MD or MD/PhD (or foreign equivalent).
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all 3 steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.”
