Position Description

The School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences (IAS) at the University of Washington Bothell (UWB) seeks applicants for a full time (100% FTE) tenure track Assistant Professor (9-month service period) position in Community Psychology. Area of expertise is open. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in critical, interdisciplinary, and contextually oriented approaches to psychology that address topics of concern to communities of color.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach core courses that introduce students to interdisciplinary inquiry in a portfolio-based undergraduate curriculum. The Community Psychology program will be transitioning to Psychology in Fall 2022. The normal teaching load for the tenure track in IAS is 5 courses over 3 quarters. The start date is September 16, 2022.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements for the position include:

  • Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Psychology or related field required by time of appointment.

  • Research and teaching agenda that addresses concerns of communities of color
  • Demonstrated ability to address questions of diversity, equity and inclusion in courses, scholarship, and professional/community/institutional service.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative and effective pedagogy.
  • Expertise in working with diverse student populations.
