Position Description

The Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (AID) in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position. This position will be at the Associate Professor level, without tenure for reasons of funding (WOT), and will have teaching and research responsibilities. This position has an annual service period of 12-months [July 1-June 30] and is anticipated to start in July 2020.

Duties of this position will include research on HIV and sexually and blood-transmitted infections with a focus on substance use, opioid replacement therapy and other treatment options.  The successful candidate will conduct teaching focused on public health research methods – including discovery and implementation science, as well as quantitative and qualitative methods – and applied course work in program evaluation for health department epidemiologists. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a PhD in Infectious Diseases, Epidemiology, or a related field (or foreign equivalent), and have evidence of publications, research grant funding, and excellent verbal and written skills. The successful candidate must demonstrate documented expertise in HIV/STI contribution with a focus on work related to opioid agonist therapy and other treatment options for people with substance use disorder.
