The Department of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Washington invites applications for a full-time, 12-month service period, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level with an anticipated start date of Fall 2019.

Responsibilities of the position include the development of a strong independent extramurally-funded research program, and teaching at the graduate, professional and undergraduate levels.

The applicant's research should incorporate the excellent core departmental resources, which include a state-of-the-art mass spectrometry facility, NMR, cell culture and protein expression facilities. These resources contribute to the outstanding research environment of The University of Washington, which provides a wide range of opportunities for collaborative research within the department, School of Pharmacy and university (



A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Pharmacology, or related field (or foreign equivalent) is required.

Two years experience teaching and/or mentoring students within a PharmD or a graduate curriculum in a chemical field is required.  

The successful candidate’s research program will ideally be related to fields that impact human health and disease and enrich current departmental strengths in drug metabolism and chemical mechanisms of drug toxicity, pharmacogenetics, or metabolomics. The applicant should have a minimum of 3 years experience in the application of modern methods to current problems in drug metabolism or mechanisms of chemical toxicity.
