Position Description

The Department of Pediatrics at Seattle Children’s Hospital/University of Washington, School of Medicine is recruiting one full or part-time academic board eligible or certified pediatric nephrologist-hospitalist at the Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor level.  Rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Clinical Assistant Professors, Clinical Associate Professors and Clinical Professors hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms.  Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

University of Washington Faculty engage in teaching, research and service.  The successful applicant will have a strong background in critical care nephrology and pediatric kidney transplantation and will spend most of their time in inpatient clinical care at Seattle Children's Hospital. There is built-in protected time for administrative activities dependent on the background and expertise of the applicant.

Clinical duties will be focused on providing overnight and weekend coverage of the inpatient and consult nephrology services at Seattle Children’s Hospital. This position requires a strong commitment to teaching and education of medical students, pediatric residents, pediatric nephrology fellows, as well as other members of the multidisciplinary Nephrology team. The position is available immediately.

The base salary range for this position will be: Clinical Assistant Professors MD $11,644 - $17,466 per month ($139,726 - $209,590 annually), Clinical Associate Professors MD $14,114 - $21,172 per month ($169,374 - $254,060 annually), Clinical Professors MD $17,249 - $25,873 per month ($206,986 - $310,478 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Children’s University Medical Group practice plan. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative supplement (ADS).

Qualifications

The successful candidate will also have an MD/DO (or foreign equivalent) and be board-eligible/certified in Pediatrics Nephrology.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
