Position Description
The University of Washington (UW) is recruiting for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor (without tenure due to funding) in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, Department of Medicine. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. Patient care efforts will primarily occur at University of Washington Medical Center. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in clinical duties and scholarly work focused on Interstitial Lung Diseases. This individual will have teaching duties that include attending in outpatient clinic and on inpatient pulmonary consultative services and mentoring residents and fellows.
Assistant professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments and associate professors WOT hold indefinite appointments, that both align with a 12-month service period (July 1–June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July–June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
Anticipated start date would be July 2023.
University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.
Qualifications
Requirements include an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and Board Eligibility or Certification in both Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine (or foreign equivalent). In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduate of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
