The Daniel J. Evans School of Public Policy & Governance, at the University of Washington, invites applications for a non-tenure faculty position at the rank of Senior Lecturer, Part-Time (75% FTE, 9-month appointment, UW Job Class Code: 0178).
This position focuses on nonprofit management and social innovation, with both teaching and administrative duties. The position has a course load of three regularly scheduled courses per year with additional responsibilities, including developing client-based capstone projects, developing the executive education curriculum, and co-directing the Nancy Bell Evans Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy. Preference given to candidates with extensive experience teaching nonprofit management to masters’ and/or executive-level students, including overseeing client-oriented capstone projects with nonprofit and/or social-sector clients. The successful candidate will possess the ability to engage in high-quality teaching along with a demonstrated ability to engage in successful strategy and leadership development based on previous experience developing and building a business and/or other programs. Successful candidates should have senior-level management experience in the social sector as well as experience researching social-sector issues specific to communications and fund development. A deep understanding of the issues facing Washington state nonprofits, plus extensive experience and contacts in the local and regional area will be welcomed, as well as prior experience in an academic higher-education setting. Minimum qualifications include a terminal degree (e.g., a PhD or JD) or a master’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of policymaking experience.
