Community Resources

Many incoming University of Washington employees come to UW from other cities, states and countries. The University of Washington is committed to providing its employees with information about resources within the community such as current housing market materials, local school districts and other applicable information. Below is a list of resources for some of these services. This list is by no means exhaustive and incoming faculty should work with their units for additional information.

Seattle Campus

Housing – The UW Benefits Office offers detailed information about housing in the Seattle area.

Visiting Faculty Housing Service – The Visiting Faculty Housing Service provides a listing service to match new and visiting UW faculty and staff with appropriate rental housing.

Seattle Public Schools – The Seattle Public School District is the largest K-12 school system in the State of Washington, serving nearly 52,000 students. For more information about the Seattle Public School District and enrolling children in school, visit www.seattleschools.org.

UW Bothell

In and Around Bothell – The growing community of Bothell is located on the northeastern side of Lake Washington and offers  unlimited access to outdoor recreation while being less than 20 miles from downtown Seattle.
