August 6, 2012
As a continuing part of the University’s ongoing compliance efforts required by Federal law, beginning September 1, 2012, International Scholars Operations (ISO) will require that an Actual Wage Memorandum be included with each H1-B Visa Request. The Actual Wage Memorandum provides confirmation that the wage offered to the H1-B employee is within the range of wages paid to other employees in the appointing unit with qualifications and duties similar to the H-1B. You will receive a follow up email later this week listing the web address to the form and definitions.
We understand that the frequently updated and complex requirements established by government agencies can be frustrating and confusing. The ISO advisors will be available to arrange information sessions with your individual school/college/campus to allow for in-depth Q & A opportunities. We also invite you to attend an information session to review the Actual Wage Memorandum and ask any questions you may have about this or other immigration requirements. Please feel free to contact our office at (206) 685-8847 or via email.
