Visa Request Processing Fee Increase (Effective August 1, 2013)

July 11, 2013

The fee required to cover the administrative costs to process visa request forms will increase to $213, effective August 1, 2013. Visa request forms that have been approved by the dean/chancellor and received in ISO on or after August 1 will be charged the new rate.

Please note that all fees associated with an H-1B, E-3 and TN petition, including the $213 administrative fee, are paid by the host department and cannot be passed on to the foreign beneficiary. Reimbursement of the $213 administrative fee may be requested from J exchange visitors.

Additionally, also August 1, ISO will charge $45 to reissue the DS-2019, Certificate of Eligibility for Exchange Visitor Status, for a J-1 scholar. It is expected that a final decision has been reached on start date, title, and salary during the visa request review process. Upon submission to AHR/ISO the request is reviewed for appropriate appointment terms, including title, salary, and duration by AHR Consultants and is reviewed by the ISO Advisors for relevant work authorization issues. When the DS-2019 is issued it is considered a final document that goes on to USCIS and any change to the information provided requires the reissuance of a new DS-2019.

We are committed to providing effective and efficient services to UW academic departments and programs that sponsor international scholars for teaching and research activities.
