Position Details


The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) and University of Washington (UW) are recruiting a full-time clinical medical oncologist to join a three person faculty at the SCCA clinic located at Northwest (NWH) Hospital.  Start date would be July 1, 2017.  The position will focus primarily on high volume ambulatory clinical care of patients with solid organ cancers, encompassing a breadth of knowledge across sub-specialties within oncology.  There is a secondary focus on inpatient consultations with on-call requirements.  As the group increases in size, there will be the opportunity for greater sub-specialization.  NWH SCCA has a nascent clinical trial program that is expanding rapidly, so  the final candidate will have the opportunity to facilitate community involvement in clinical trials.  The position may also involve participation in the clinical and instructional activities of the Division of Medical Oncology, as the site will serve as a continuity clinic for fellows training in the UW/Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center fellowship program.

The position would be at the Clinical Assistant Professor (Job class code 0167) or Clinical Associate Professor (Job class code 0166) level without tenure in the Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology. This is a full-time, 12 month annual appointment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants are required to have a  M.D. (or foreign equivalent) and be board-eligible for oncology (or foreign equivalent) with plans to certify in the next year.  In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.  University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
