Position Details

Postdoctoral position in cosmology and the intergalactic medium.

Applications are invited for a full time postdoctoral Research Associate position at the University of Washington. The candidate will work with Prof. Matt McQuinn on a research program that includes both numerical modeling and the analysis of spectroscopic data. Desired qualifications are postdoctoral candidates with experience in analyzing Lyman-alpha forest data, running cosmological simulations, and/or common statistical methods in cosmology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join existing projects and will also be encouraged to develop and pursue their own research program.

The position is initially for two years, with a possible extension for a third year subject to a performance review and availability of funds. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy, or a related field by the start date of the position (nominally September 1, 2016).
