Position Details


The VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS) and the University of Washington Department of Medicine, Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, are searching for a board certified/board eligible (or foreign equivalent)  academic Infectious Disease specialist who will hold a full-time faculty position at the University of Washington at the Associate or full Professor level (physician/scientist pathway) (without tenure due to funding), based at the VAPSHCS in Seattle as well as provide clinical coverage for the Infectious Disease Consult Service and the HIV/ID Clinic. The successful candidate will hold the position of Section Head of the VAPSHCS ID section and will oversee the administrative duties of the ID Section. The applicant will have an MD (or foreign equivalent) and have US citizen status (permanent residentsmay be appointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens). Clinical responsibilities will also include interacting with medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as primary care providers while attending on general medicine wards and infectious disease outpatient clinic.   The successful applicant will also have a research program which is aligned with the VA mission and preferably some administrative experience.   University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.  Recruiting will remain open until position is filled.
