The Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University of Washington and the Puget Sound Blood Center seek a full-time Associate Professor or Professor without tenure in transfusion medicine on the physician-scientist pathway. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D., PhD and board certification in clinical pathology (American Board of Pathology or foreign equivalent). Responsibilities include service work in the clinical hemostasis laboratory at the University of Washington Medical Center as well as teaching principles of thrombosis and hemostasis to students, residents, and fellows. Applicants are expected to possess substantial scholarly record of publications and develop an independent research program. Interest and experience in translational research is highly desired. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of non-U.S. medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
