Position Details


The Department of Medicine, University of Washington is recruiting a full-time (100% FTE) laboratory-based investigator to join the Division of Cardiology. The successful applicant will have an active research program and a strong publication and funding record, appropriate to rank.  We seek an applicant whose research will complement existing institutional strengths in vascular and cardiac biology including cardiovascular genetics, cardiac myocyte biology, gene therapy, and genomics.  MD, MD/Ph.D. or Ph.D. degree or equivalent, required.  If MD, applicants will preferably be board certified/eligible or equivalent in cardiovascular diseases (or foreign equivalent).

The successful applicant will be appointed to the full-time faculty at the University of Washington at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level, without tenure due to funding, or the Research faculty track, commensurate with qualifications. This is a 12-month, indefinite appointment.  Laboratory space will be available at the South Lake Union campus of the University of Washington, along with a substantial start-up/transition package.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.
